Design Story
In the context of the rising awareness of overall health and the pursuit of dietary wellness, sugar-free tea beverages are showing a rapid growth trend. However, the shelf life of ready-to-drink tea packaging in the market can cause the tea to gradually oxidize and change color, leading to the loss of aroma and taste. Preserving the freshness and original flavor of the tea has become a major challenge for the industry.
Introducing Inikin Brew-on-Demand Tea, a new and innovative product from the Yili Group. With the concept of "good water paired with good tea, and good tea brewed on demand," we have combined the natural mineral water resources of Alshan to pioneer the separation lock-fresh technology. This overturns the traditional packaging approach for tea beverages and aims to bring consumers a continuous supply of authentic, original flavor. Leaving behind the past, we lead the industry standards, showcasing a forward-thinking design philosophy.
The tea-water separation lock-fresh cap stores freeze-dried tea powder in a light-proof and oxygen-proof compartment, significantly reducing flavor deterioration during transportation and display. Consumers can brew and enjoy the tea instantly, with no compromise on taste, bringing out the true essence of brew-on-demand tea.
Highlights
The packaging design of the brew-on-demand tea fully integrates the lock-fresh cap experience, combining the concept, form, and functionality seamlessly:
Consistency: The overall design embodies the concept of "good water paired with good tea, freshness brewed on demand." The tea-water separation design visually represents the origin tea and volcanic mineral water, reflecting this concept intuitively.
Form and Function: The transparent design of the inner label not only presents a unique aesthetic appeal visually but also provides consumers with an interactive experience during the tea dissolving process. The form and function are perfectly integrated.
Influence: Through the visual design of the tea's color, our product stands out on the shelves with high recognizability, allowing consumers to quickly differentiate it.
Market Performance
Brew-on-demand tea brings a high-quality tea drinking experience to consumers, with its attractive appearance, great taste, and interactive engagement, satisfying consumers' senses. Craft
The new "Inikin Brew-on-Demand Tea" features an innovative lock-fresh cap design that ensures a secure seal. It ingeniously separates the tea and water, with the tea powder pre-set inside the patented lock-fresh bottle cap. Upon opening the cap, the tea powder automatically falls into the water, dissolving within 3 seconds. With no additives, every bottle guarantees a freshly brewed taste.
The bottle is designed in a square shape, providing a solid grip. The curved corners of the bottle are inspired by the flowing water element, creating a visual ambiance of gushing springs. The side view of the bottle showcases the silhouette of tea leaves, harmonizing with the spring-inspired design to evoke a sense of fusion between the tea and water.
Does the design solve the problems that are common across the product category? If so, please explain.
In the process of storage, traditional ready-to-drink tea beverages gradually oxidize and change color, leading to a loss of aroma and taste. All sugar-free tea beverages in the industry add vitamin C and sodium bicarbonate to maintain shelf life, but the addition of sodium bicarbonate also affects the taste of the sugar-free tea.
Brew-on-demand tea, through the tea-water separation lock-fresh cap, stores freeze-dried tea powder in a light-proof and oxygen-proof compartment, minimizing flavor deterioration during transportation and display. There is no need for any additives, and the ingredient list consists only of tea and mineral water. Consumers can brew and enjoy the tea instantly, with no compromise on taste, restoring the true essence of brew-on-demand tea.
What functional designs of the work have enhanced the user experience?
The most important aspect of brew-on-demand tea is to provide consumers with a sense of interactivity and the visual satisfaction of freshly brewed tea.
The lock-fresh cap's interactive experience of "twist and shake" fulfills consumers' sensory experience. By twisting and shaking, users can enjoy the pleasure of brewing tea with their own hands. During the brewing process, they can witness the tea powder cascading down, dissolving in the water, and observe the gradual change in the color of the tea. When they open the bottle cap, they can fully experience the perfectly sealed aroma of the brew-on-demand tea.
