Satoru Ozaki, the Chief Clerk, Basic Microbiology Research Department, R&D Division, Meiji Co. Ltd. Meiji is a food manufacturer, and the market share of dairy products and confectionery is the largest in Japan. He joined Meiji in 2008. From 2008 to 2009, he had been engaged in the manufacture of yogurt and milk at Moriya Factory. From 2009 to 2012, he belonged to the Food Development Laboratory and developed functional yogurt products. One of the items he developed was Meiji Bulgaria Yogurt, which has health benefits for regulating the function of intestine. In 2012, he moved to the current department. His current job is mainly two; finding lactic acid bacteria with high health function and making them produce healthy functional substances. He engaged in research to make future functional yoghurt. He had applied for 10 patents in Japan and involved in writing two academic papers. All patents and papers related to the health function of lactic acid bacteria. He majored in the genetics of bacteria at Nagoya University and graduated from his master's program in 2008.
