From art school dropout to Senior Designer at Vault49, Jake’s unique style and approach to design reflects his multicultural heritage, East London upbringing, and unconventional path into the creative industry.
After starting out as a freelance illustrator, Jake won a place on D&AD’s inaugural SHIFT programme; a free, industry-led night school for up-and-coming creative talent. Jake spent the next four years honing his packaging and branding skills at Design Bridge, working across clients including Unilever, Cadbury and Fortnum & Mason. Joining Vault49 in 2022 and promoted to Senior Designer one year later, Jake continues to combine his talents for illustration and brand design on 360 projects for brands such as Guinness, Mountain Dew, and Heineken. Most recently, he has started to take his personal passion for photography into his daily work practice.
A firm believer in giving back and nurturing raw creative talent from alternative backgrounds, Jake continues to collaborate with D&AD as a mentor on the SHIFT programme in London. Jake is also involved in Vault49’s international partnership on The SWAP; a unique creative and cultural exchange program that aims to inspire and empower young people from underserved communities, collaborating with partners including Ravensbourne University in London, The Obama Foundation in Chicago, and Nike’s Jordan Brand.
