Under the global trend of green environmental protection, consumers' environmental protection concept is increasingly upgraded, and major brands around the world have also turned their attention to more sustainable packaging solutions. This is not only to satisfy consumer preferences, but also a way to demonstrate the brand's social responsibility.
According to Amcor's survey, the majority of consumers consider recyclability to be the most important sustainability attribute of packaging. They want their packaging to be recycled as much as possible and expect brands to come up with more sustainable packaging solutions.
In response to consumers' and brands' demands for more sustainable packaging solutions, Amcor has launched AmPrima, a global portfolio of sustainable packaging solutions, with cutting-edge R&D capabilities. AmPrima meets all the performance requirements of non-recyclable laminates in a recyclable form.
Highlights
The AmPrima single-material packaging solution is currently available in a wide range of PE specifications and utilizes a variety of technologies, including proprietary technologies not available in other products. This provides the stiffness, clarity, graphics performance and machine speed required by customers, comparable to the performance of today's non-recyclable alternatives. It not only meets recyclable design standards, but also has a lower carbon footprint, which is suitable for a wide range of products in the food, beverage, pet care, home and personal care sectors.

Amcor offered an AmPrima™ Plus standup pouch with AmPrima™ Gen 1 film,laminated with PE and EVOH-based PE sealant. Customer changed from PET rigidbottle to a recycle ready AmPrima™ Plus pouch, which reduced plastic by 66%,non-renewable energy by 52%, carbon footprint by57% and water consumptionby 66%.

Mixed-material films perform very well in packaging and production lines, but they are difficult to recycle. At Amcor, the R&D team has spent years figuring out how to replace layers that are incompatible with flexible PE recycling processes, while still delivering all the production speeds and performance that brands demand from packaging.
We use a range of technologies and innovations, some of which are entirely new and unique to Amcor, to enable us to meet our customers' needs, including Amcor's AmPrima running faster than many other PE films on the market and providing support and innovation in all aspects of packaging needs.

AmPrima is expected to revolutionize and upgrade the flexible packaging industry, reducing its carbon footprint by 46%. * Some of these products also contain up to 50% recycled ingredients, which is an excellent example of recycling packaging. With the same performance, using AmPrimaPE PLUS instead of OPP, the environmental benefits per 100 square meters of packaging material are equivalent to saving the energy needed to use 3,290 light bulbs for a year, the carbon emissions generated by driving 45 cars for a year, and the water needed to shower for 14,500 minutes.
