World Expos have provided a platform to showcase the greatest innovations for 170 years. Expo 2020 Dubai continues that tradition. PepsiCo is proud to be the official Beverage and Snack partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, bringing a fun new vision for beverages and snacks to the Expo’s millions of visitors. Following the successful opening ceremony of Expo 2020 Dubai and the official inauguration of our PepsiCo Pavilions and Innovations, the Pepsi brand launched a new Limited- Edition Series, “Cans of the World” to celebrate this momentous partnership. This Pepsi x Expo 2020 Dubai cans series is one of the many ways PepsiCo is bringing millions of smiles to Expo 2020 Dubai with every sip and every bite. Following the inspiration of the tagline “Pop, Fizz, and Explore the World!,” the Design Team created nine Pepsi cans, each with unique and vivid illustrations of the most iconic global landmarks and attractions. In a crisp visual style with brilliant colors, these designs come complete with a scannable Augmented Reality (AR) feature that allows consumers to experience and explore futuristic windows into nine different countries: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UK, USA, China, India, Philippines and Pakistan. The objective of this visually-driven immersive AR experience is to inspire the feeling in consumers that they want to set out for adventure right away. With a quick scan of their Pepsi can, consumers can explore the ancient city of KSA, see a Pakistani monument up close, visit New York’s Statue of Liberty and more, ensuring that no matter where they are in the world, they feel part of the big moment. With this interactive functionality, Pepsi packaging becomes a source of entertainment and gives consumers the chance to win tickets to the world’s greatest show, Expo 2020 Dubai.
