Nathan Gray is Senior Editor at NutraIngredients, where he oversees news and analysis covering the functional food, supplements, and wellness food industries in Europe and Africa.
He joined William Reed Business Media in 2010, and has worked with NutraIngredients and FoodNavigator in Europe, the US, and Asia in the past 7 years. In this time he has written on key areas of primary scientific research, national and international policy and legislation, innovation and trends impacting the global and European foods and beverage industries.
Areas of interest and expertise include tackling issues in R&D and innovation relating to functional food formulation, health claims regulation, advances in microbiome science, new delivery formats, and partnerships and investments within the industry.
Before his current role as Senior Editor, Nathan worked on the launch of NutraIngredients-Asia, and was Acting Editor at FoodNavigator and Science Editor at NutraIngredients. He has also been involved in the organisation and development of industry leading conferences and events, including the European editions of the Food Vision and Probiota series of events.
Nathan has a BSc Human Biosciences from the University of Plymouth in the UK, where he specialised in exercise nutrition, immunology, and science communication. After this he gained a postgraduate certification in Science and Environmental Journalism at the University of Lincoln, where he worked on radio and TV productions in addition to online and print journalism.
