Dr. Colin Chao Zhang obtained his PhD degree in chemistry from Peking University, China in 2011. He worked as a research assistant in the Department of Physics in the Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2012 to 2013. He is currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow and lecturer in College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University. His research interests have been focused on dynamic optical functional materials, stimuli-responsive materials and self-evolving materials. In 2013, he and colleagues designed and fabricated a nanomaterial-based time-temperature indicator model featuring flexible kinetical programmability and wide applicability to common perishable products. Based on this patented technology, Peking University started a spin-off company, Beijing Lantsai Tech. Co., Ltd., where Dr. Zhang is serving as CTO and directing the R&D sector.
