Laurent has 2 Engineering Degrees, in Chemical Engineering and in Oil & Gas Engineering.

He has spent the first 20 years of his career working with Engineering Contractors, like Foster Wheeler and Jacobs Engineering. He has developed his leadership style through various roles in various locations. He started as a Project Engineer on a revamping of a crude oil refinery based near Porto, Portugal. As a Project Manager, he designed and built an Aspartame plant for Ajinomoto / NutraSweet in the North of France.

With Jacobs, Laurent held several roles in Project Management, in Business Development and in developing and leading Global Alliances like with Rohm & Haas for example. He has gained huge business acumen as well as a deep technical experience of many sectors of the industry, like Refining, Petrochemicals, Chemical Specialties, Energy as well as Pharmacy while leading an Alliance for Eli Lilly. His last role with Jacobs was to lead the project operations team in their subsidiary of Madrid, Spain.

In 2009, Laurent joined Danone Headquarters to lead and grow the Dairy Engineering community. His team has developed a comprehensive set of Best in Class Industry Standards for producing dairy products. Working closely with R&D, he has led the development of new technologies adapted to their fast moving business needs. His team has managed with Excellence a significant amount of projects all around the world, including in complex geographies.

In January 2014, Laurent joined Mondelēz International as Vice-President Global Engineering. Since then Laurent has been transforming the Engineering function within this Snacking Company. His teams are revolutionizing the entire Supply Chain through Standardization of all platforms for all categories (biscuit, chocolate, gum & candy, powdered beverages) and through world class Project Execution of very large and challenging investments. The 600+ engineers of the company, under Laurent’s leadership, are designing and building production lines and factories with breakthrough performance results, enabling huge productivity savings. They are also developing new technologies allowing for growth through Innovation.
